Steve Antony has written and/or illustrated 23 picture books including his most recent picture book, Rainbowsaurus. He also recently illustrated the all-new Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
“It has been so inspiring to see my Picture Hooks mentee Clare develop her stories and illustrations over the course of the programme. Our regular catch-ups have been so much fun. Throughout the mentorship Clare’s passion for art and visual storytelling really shone through her evocative and characterful illustrations. Each time we met Clare had something new to share. As her confidence grew, her portfolio and sketchbooks began filling up with lively, expressive and charming characters and exciting, imaginative and thoughtful-provoking story ideas. By the end of the mentorship, Clare had produced two homemade dummy books for two of her stories: Mavis and The Lost Toys and When Buttercup Woods Stopped Working. Both stories are absolutely delightful and filled with such rich, vibrant painted illustrations and sketches. Mentoring Clare was an absolute pleasure, and I look forward to following her creative path with great interest.”
