Picture Hooks Exhibition – NGS Modern One, Edinburgh

Our highly-acclaimed exhibition returns to National Gallery Scotland for the fourth time to showcase the work of award-winning children’s illustrators alongside that of emerging illustrators.

Picture Hooks offers a rare insight into the process of creating a picture book.

Five art graduates hoping to become professional illustrators have been matched with five eminent and established illustrators for a year. This resulting exhibition displays some of the fruits of this mentoring process, so is a great opportunity to see examples of ten differing styles of illustration.

Sketchbook and working drawings will also be on display.

As well as the art, the exhibition will contain comfy chairs plus a suitcase full of books, so you can read aloud to little ones! And, if you find a particular favourite, you could always visit the Gallery Shop to buy a copy for yourself.

The exhibition is open daily and will run until Sunday 31st May 2020.
